Upgrade to SPS2

SPS2 is now included in the latest stable VRCFury.

If you already use SPS

If your avatar already uses VRCFury SPS components:

  • Update VRCFury to the latest version
  • Upload again

That is usually all you need to do to get SPS2.

After updating, review any plug and socket settings you care about, especially:

  • Disable Depth Pass on plugs
  • Enable Legacy Compatibility on sockets
  • SPS2 tags on plugs and sockets

If you still use DPS or TPS

To convert legacy DPS setups:

  • Select the main object for your avatar
  • Click Tools > VRCFury > SPS > Upgrade DPS to SPS
  • Review the list of objects that will be upgraded
  • Click OK
  • Upload your avatar

When your avatar is selected, you should see orange SPS gizmos in the Scene view around the upgraded areas.

For old penetrators:

  • If the plug used DPS, change the material shader from Raliv/Penetrator to a normal shader such as Standard
  • If the plug used TPS, disable the Penetrator checkbox on the Poiyomi material
  • Remove old DPS Tip lights, often found in a child object named Physics
  • Remove any duplicate or stale old SPS Plug components if they were left behind by older setups

Legacy compatibility after upgrading

SPS2 can still interact with SPS1, DPS, and TPS if the relevant legacy compatibility options remain enabled.

If you want a fully SPS2-only setup, turn those off after everyone you care about has upgraded.
